How to Convert Evernote to Notion

Evernote is powerful and searchable, but its proprietary format keeps your notes locked in. Notion combines notes, databases, and wikis in one flexible workspace. Learn how to convert your Evernote notes to Notion in a few simple steps below.

Export your Evernote notes

  1. Open Evernote on your computer: The export feature lives in the Evernote desktop app (Windows or macOS), not the web app.

  2. Select what you want to export: Click a notebook to export everything in it, or hold Ctrl (Windows) / ⌘ (macOS) and click the individual notes you want.

  3. Export as ENEX: Right-click your selection and choose Export notebook… (or Export… for selected notes). Choose ENEX format, check the attributes you want, click Export, and pick where to save the .enex file. If you have multiple notebooks, repeat the process to export each one separately.

Convert your notes

With your notes exported, the conversion itself takes seconds. We'll use our app Notes Convert, the only notes conversion tool on the market, that runs entirely on your device. You can download Notes Convert here. It's free for 50 notes, and inexpensive for unlimited notes.

  1. Import into Notes Convert: Open Notes Convert and set the import format to Evernote. Click Open File and select the .enex file you exported from Evernote. Notes Convert reads ENEX directly, including attachments and tags.

  2. Choose Notion and convert: Pick Notion as the output format, click Convert, choose where to save your notes, and wait for the conversion.

Import into Notion

  1. Open Notion: Use the desktop app or any browser.

  2. Open the import dialog: Go to Settings → Import.

  3. Import the ZIP file: In the "Convert Zip to pages" section, drag and drop the .zip file Notes Convert produced, or click Choose file… and select it. Notion converts your notes into pages inside your workspace. Notion support in Notes Convert is currently experimental, so a few features may not come over perfectly — compatibility keeps improving in future versions.
